The Roman Kingdom

The article deals with the institution of the Roman Kingdom and especially with its vestiges in the time of the Roman Republic, which were lost after its abolition. The most important vestige is the institution of the rex sacrorum, which took over the sacral functions of the king and was kept away from any political powers.
