Conference: Digital Methods and Resources in Legal History

Nov. 4, 2020

Date: 04-05 March 2021

Venue: Campus Westend of the University of Frankfurt, Germany

Due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the date for this event had to be moved from March 2020 to March 2021. Most of the presenters have already indicated their participation also for the new date and while a revised programme will be compiled in due time, the list of presentations that had been planned for March 2020 may give you a good idea about what is going to happen.

The MPI of European Legal History invites researchers to participate in the conference on "Digital Methods and Resources in Legal History", which is intended to provide an opportunity for the critical discussion of digital methods and resources in legal history. The MPI will have presentations of collections, databases, gazetteers and similar resources of relevance to legal history, and discuss how these and other resources, and digital methods in general, have been put to use in concrete project contexts. Interested researchers, whether from legal history, the digital humanities or other fields are welcome.

You can find the preliminary programme below. The call for papers is closed, but it is still accessible, as it also contains a more detailed statement on the conference's rationale. You find this information and the book of abstracts on the website of the conference: https://www.rg.mpg.de/dlh2021/en
