I. General

FHI- forum historiae iuris takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We process your personal data, which is collected when you visit our website or register for the newsletter, in compliance with the applicable European and Swiss data protection regulations. Your data will not be published by us, nor passed on to third parties without your express consent.

II. Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on our website, we need your email address, your first and last name and information on the preferred information reference ("Everything", "New article or debate contribution", "New book review" or "New news entry"). The use of this personal data is solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter.  By clicking on the confirmation link that we send you after you have entered your data, you agree to the privacy policy published on the FHI website and to the sending of the newsletter to you. You can revoke your consent at any time. The use of personal data for the newsletter subscription is exclusively by the FHI editorial team at the University of Zurich, the co-publishers and their employees. The electronic infrastructure for storing the data is provided by the University Computer Center at the University of Zurich.

III. Cookies used

The website of FHI uses cookies. These serve to make the offer of our website safer, more user-friendly and more effective. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the internet browser or on the user's device. The cookie stored on the user's operating system when visiting our website, contains a certain character string that is recognized when the website is visited again. If you do not agree with the storage of cookies, you can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies. In addition, you have the option to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, as well as to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. However, we would like to point out that the functionality of the website may be impaired by the restriction of cookies.

IV. Log file creation

When our website is called up, data and information are automatically stored by the system of the calling device. The following data is temporarily collected and stored by our server: IP address of the accessing device, address of the website visited before the FHI access (referrer URL), date and time of access, name and version of the browser or operating system used, if applicable. This data is stored in the log files of our systems. The data cannot be assigned to a specific person. Consequently, it is not stored together with other personal data.

V. Right of the data subjects

As a data subject, you have the right to free information about your stored personal data at any time (Art. 15 DSGVO). You also have the right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO) and deletion (Art. 17 (1) DSGVO) of your data or may restrict processing (Art. 18 DSGVO). If you have any questions about the storage and use of personal data, you can contact us at any time at the address given. You also have a comprehensive right to object to the processing of your personal data (Art. 21 DSGVO).
